Video Of The Day: Rafael Da Silva

Rafael, one half of the Da Silva twins has made quite an impression during his current debut season for the Red Devils.

Showing glimpses of great attacking flair, with a cannon for a right foot, the lad has shown no first team jitters among his all star collegues.

Once Rafael strengthens his defense skill set, he has a real chance of becoming one of the right backs of a new generation.

Now if we only could tell him apart from his brother Fabio!

The Carlos Tevez Saga

“Fergie, Sign Him Up, Fergie, Fergie, Sign Him Up” sings the Old Trafford faithful. The fans want Carlos Tevez, and they want Sir Alex to know it. The little Argentinean has been in impressive form of late, and he has scored some important goals in recent times. He buried City with the second goal of the Manchester derby, and he got United back to level terms against Wigan, with a brilliantly cheeky finish. These recent performances have only strengthened his position in Ferguson’s thinking. So what’s all the fuss about? Why don’t United just sign him, and be done with it?

Time for the Next Step – United Youth

However it ends, this season is certainly one that will go down in history. Whether or not this will be for good reasons or bad reasons remains to be seen, but one way or the other this season will not be forgotten any time soon. It has thrown up all sorts of surprises, and many twists and turns. We have seen United play poorly, and we have seen them play magnificently. We have seen our veterans play sparkling, champagne football, and we have watched them fail to meet their own high standards. Most importantly however, we have seen the emergence of some incredible talents in the famous red shirt, and when taking into consideration the impressive nature of these performances, coupled with United’s worrying blip in form, the question must be asked, is it time for United to give their young guns a more central role? Video Of The Day: Everyday United

Every year, Manchester United associates itself with various campaigns which promote fitness and sport for youngsters in England.

A few years ago, the club aligned with England’s x to make a charity DVD entitled, “Everyday United”.

What’s notable about the DVD is it shows United players trying their luck with various sports outside of football. It’s a neat insight into what the players enjoy doing sports and fitness wise and it shows great insight into the chemistry of the players.

United Zone Player of the Month – April 09

After a terrible month in March, United are well and truly back on track after an exciting April. April was a month which saw United win every single one of their league games, progress to the semi finals of the Champions League, and put one door in the final. The only real negative was that United’s chance of winning a quintuplet was shattered after some woeful refereeing in the FA Cup semi final in the FA Cup, and some penalty kicks that were even worse. Oh, and United were introduced to a certain promising talent along the way.

But who was the best in an impressive United side over the last month? Well if you were to believe the members of United Zone Football Forums, you would find that there was not one, but two favourites this month. After tallying the votes for the month, left by United Zone members after every game, we have a tie!

Congratulations to Wayne Rooney and Darren Fletcher, United Zone’s Players of the Month for the month of April. The United Zone electorate was greatly impressed with some battling displays from Fletcher, particularly against Arsenal midweek and Aston Villa, whilst Rooney’s performances against Tottenham and Portsmouth.

Very versatile, with the ability to play on the wing and as striker, Welbeck has made quite a few appearances in the 08-09 campaign.
