Well, he didn’t really score, but what a marvelous performance by the eternal young Ryan Giggs. After a thrilling performance against fierce rivals Manchester City, setting up 3 of the 4 goals scored by United, Giggsy has found strength to break down Stoke City’s resistance and managed two more assists to get us the whole 3 points from a very tricky fixture.
I invite you to enjoy a video tribute to Sir (hopefully) Ryan Giggs:
Its yet another win for the Red Devils today as they brushed a strong Stoke City team aside, with two nice goals from Dimatar Berbatov and an unlikely suspect in Irishman, John O’Shea. Ryan Giggs, introduced for a poor Nani in the second half, changed the game completly and led United to a deserved three points.

Stoke City 0-2 Manchester United
Welcome back to another doze of Transfer Gossip. Despite the fact that it’s almost October, the newspapers have been very busy linking Manchester Untied with another top class footballer:
Valencia forward David Silva has given the strongest indication yet that he is interested in a move to Manchester United.
The Spaniard has been closely monitored by Sir Alex Ferguson for the last few months, and the United manager has sent scouts to two of Silva’s games this season, The Daily Mirror reports.
The 23-year-old, who helped Spain win the Euro 2008 title with some eye-catching displays, continued to reiterate his unwavering commitment to Valencia, but also admitted that an offer from the Red Devils may be too good to resist.
“It’s an honour for any player that a club of the prestige of Manchester United should follow them and that in itself is enormous praise,” Silva said.
“I am committed to Valencia and my dream is to win the title but in the future anything is possible.
“Valencia have rejected offers for me in the past few months and I am happy here. But I also know that the Premier League is a big competition and hard to resist.”
Silva was also wanted by Liverpool during the summer, but the Reds were unable to match Valencia’s £30 million asking price.
In contrast, United, still heavily cashed up with the funds from the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo, are unlikely to have any problems with financing a deal.

If you happened to glance at the English Premier League table this morning, you would find that, as it stands, the top four teams are, in order: Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City. Anyone care to pick the odd one out? Of course, Manchester City is the name which jumps out more than most in that list. When you consider that it’s been 33 years since their last success in any competition it does come as a bit of a surprise to see them occupying third place, even this early, in the Premier League. They are the club on everyone’s lips. Having spent over 200 million pounds in the transfer market this season, big things are expected of Manchester’s “other” club, and why not? With a much stronger squad than last season, more money than God himself, and a 100% start to the season, whose going to stop them from finally enjoying a successful season? Well, that’s an easy one: Manchester United.
The real deal: Manchester United

Take yourselves back to the season of 2006 when Adebayor was a young, fleshy lad, new to the England game and absolutely dreadful. He couldn’t do anything right, so much so he made Henry, who is usually quite the gentleman, literally pull his hair out.
Adebayor – Come a long way since his early days in the Premier League
Given time, he eventually came good, each season improving by leaps and bounds. Culminating in last season where he was nothing short of world class, scoring an impressive 16 league goals in a largely unimpressive Arsenal team. Of course the bitter spurs fans weren’t happy with this and then started singing
“Adebayor….Adebayorrr….his dad washes elephants and his mum is a whore!!“
There is no doubt that United’s 2-0 defeat to Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League final was probably one of the most crushing experiences I’ve ever had as a Manchester United fan. It proved to be a massive dampening on any sense of achievement I could salvage from a third successive Barclays Premier League title, or any of the other impressive achievements accomplished by Manchester United last season. However, if there is one thing anyone could salvage from that ill fated night in Rome, it is the chance to set the record straight. United have again and again proved that the devestation of one loss can only be measured in relation to the reaction it provokes, something which was proved last season after crushing defeats at the hand of Liverpool and Fulham, and one which was proved even more recently after the shock 1-0 loss to newly promoted Burnley, which preceeded the 5-0 destruction of Wigan Athletic. United’s reaction to continental defeat last season will be no different, as Sir Alex kindly reminds us:
“You don’t like losing games, but that reaction has been part of me for a long time. You get defeats, everyone gets them, and how you recover from is the important thing,” he insisted.
“With any defeat, you don’t enjoy them but you have to move on and learn from them. We have put what happened in Rome behind us. You just move on and that’s what we have done.”
If there’s one word that comes to mind before a match against Tottenham at White Hart Lane, it’s “comeback”.
No one does them quite as well as United, and for all the fingernails they have claimed over the years they are some of the most enjoyable types of matches you can watch in football.
So without further adieu, I invite you to enjoy some of Manchester United’s best comebacks ever!
With all eyes pointed at dethroning the three time defending champions and the opposition smelling blood due to significant departures, Manchester United managed to win three of four matches to begin their endeavor of winning the 09/10 English Premier League title.
While the squad has yet to gel as a unit, with indifferent performances to date, a few veterans have come out with fine starts to the campaign. Patrice Evra has played at a consistently high level and has put in displays that one can argue make him one of the best left backs in the world. Darren Fletcher has continued to show that last season’s emergence as a big time performer was no fluke. His man of the match performance against Arsenal, as voted by the United Zone community, is testament to wonderful play. And Ben Foster has shown that when given a run of matches, he has what it takes to command the backline. He has made some big time saves, with the second half foot save off Van Persie screamer coming to mind. It kept United in the match, which they eventually won.
However, a certain ‘Wazza’ has shone ever bright with his inspired performances, never say die attitude and an ever improving game.
