Its yet another win for the Red Devils today as they brushed a strong Stoke City team aside, with two nice goals from Dimatar Berbatov and an unlikely suspect in Irishman, John O’Shea. Ryan Giggs, introduced for a poor Nani in the second half, changed the game completly and led United to a deserved three points.

Stoke City 0-2 Manchester United
Now top of the table by virtue of goal difference, United’s run of wins contnue today now stretching to seven. Whilst many believed before todays game that Stoke could well snatch something from the clash, few expected United to be such a dominant force in over the 90 minutes. It was a fustrating first half for the Red Devils with Antonio Valencia coming so close to opening his United account when he missed one-on-one with Sorenson when he really should have scored.
A quiet Wayne Rooney and a vibrant Paul Scholes kept the ball moving around the final third and it was Rooneys slick turn and low cross that fizzed beyond the outstretched leg of John O’Shea late in the first half to go into the “another chance missed” list for Fergie. Nani who wasted several decent crossing opportunities was looking as threatening as my granny with a zimmer frame and to most peoples surprise, did emerge for the second half.
Ben Foster who was under the radar after letting three past him against Mnchester City last weekend had a very quiet afternoon with the odd corss to claim all that was on the to do list for the Englishman. Introduce Mr. Ryan Giggs when all of a sudden United were a different side. Cool play from Fletcher in the middle allowed Giggs pass the ball along the deck for Dimitar Berbatov to tap in and give United a fully deserved lead. The Bulgarian showed his appreciation for the Welshman as he piointed toward Giggs as if to say, “That was your goal Ryan…”
From that point, the result was known and Stoke just weren’t much of a threat going forward at all with United’s back four in very good form, winning everything, high or low. Even Rory Delap’s throws were ineffective against the United defence who needed to impress after the shipping three goals to Manchester City.
Giggsy then provided yet another goal as John O’Shea flicked a header into the net doubling United’s lead and sending the Stoke City supporters out of the turnstiles. It was all to easy at stages for the Champions today as we claimed top spot in the league.
Stoke manager, Tony Pulis also admitted that the best team won the game. Sir Alex had this to say on the win,
“There is a long way to go but it has been a good day for us. Ryan Giggs is important and he made the goals.
“I felt his intelligence would give them a bit of bother on that side of the pitch. Nani did pretty well but Ryan gives you something else.
“He has the intelligence to take up good positions. For the first goal he went on a lovely run behind their defence and the second was an excellent free-kick.”
Up next for United is the Road to Madrid, with Wolfsburg paying a visit to Old Trafford in the UEFA Champions League.
Roll on United!

Ryan Giggs has been amazing… again. Fantastic performance by the Welsh Wizard. If he keeps it up, who knows, maybe a Ballon D’Or???
