| Fergie plots Toure move On the Utd site the Papers said that Toure could possibly move to Utd. Read this for more info Fergie plots Toure move
Manchester United have asked about Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure amid growing concern over the fitness of Owen Hargreaves. England midfielder Hargreaves has been restricted to just 25 appearances since joining United from Bayern Munich for £17m two years ago, and there are worries over his future after two major knee operations last season. United manager Sir Alex Ferguson insists Hargreaves will be back before the end of the year but has asked about Toure, who could be allowed to leave Barcelona if Liverpool's Javier Mascherano is signed to perform the holding role.

I personally think it would be a good idea, hes a wuality player and could do well at Utd |

| Re: Fergie plots Toure move I already had a rant figured out on how kolo toure wouldnt even start for us.
As for yaya, yeah we definately need someone like him. Didnt he sign a new contract recently though?
He is very good and can be used as DM if we really need to. One thing to bare in mind is african cup of nations is january, we will have him out for all of that and he will come back fairly battered, tired and bruised.
Having said that, best DM around imo is mascherano, not that liverpool would ever sell him to us but lets hope javier is as unloyal as his friend |

| Re: Fergie plots Toure move I think there is no chance of this happening to be honest. He just signed a new deal.
The only way this would happen is if Mascherano went to Barca and we loaned him, an option I am perfectly comfortable with.
He is a good palyer and the sort we need, but there are much better. |

If you watch him play he does absolutely nothing going forwards at all. NOTHING. It's all very well being a defensive midfielder and saying your primary role is to break up attacks but you have to use the ball effectively once you have it. Mascherano is the master of the 3 yard side ways pass. The best thing I can say about him is that Maradona loves him. For Liverpool, Alonso is the key in the middle. Mascherano's job could be done by anyone half competent. If I were Liverpool (and thank god I'm not) I'd take 30M in heart beat.
Toure is much better than Mascherano as he can do the defensive work but also drive forward. Fletcher is better than Mascherano because he breaks up play just as well but has a much better range of passing. A true box to box player.
Rant over....
Should we sign Toure? Yes, absolutely if we feel Hargreaves is seriously suspect. But if the medical people and Fergie feels he will be fine then I think that midfield has plenty of muscle along with Fletcher and Ando. If anything at that point i'd like someone who'd rotate more like Veloso. |

| Re: Fergie plots Toure move I love when old rumours show themselves again months later.
Here is the perfect example.
Toure, fully recovered from his time off (H1N1 flu) is ready and waiting to start one of Barca's biggest matches of the season (El Clasico against Real Madrid), and the coach doesn't start him. Instead he starts the younger and imo not as good Busquets.
Yaya is becoming fully disenchanted with seeing limited opportunities, even though Barca recently resigned him to a new deal.
If he becomes available in the January window, do you think United should make an offer? Especially if Hargo is still not ready to go?

| Re: Fergie plots Toure move Problem is the fact that he has not long signed a new contract to me means that his fee will be rather inflated and im unsure if united or arsenal would be willing to pay that, so if he is unhappy expect him to be going to a club with lots of cash or merely just staying where he is. |
